Tab tops

What are tab tops?
A very simple and attractive way to hang curtains without the need to sew! Essentially, they are individual loops that slide on to the curtain pole and are fixed to the curtain fabric using decorative pins.   Attach selected tab tops to the top of your fabric with the help of decorative fasteners.

You will find a small pin hole on both ends of the tab top through which you would insert the connecting pins and, hey presto, your curtains are ready to hang.  There are two types to choose from, taffeta and transparent. Both are made from 100% polyester, ribbed cut thanks to an ultra sonic process, they will not fray. Taffeta tab tops are normally used on heavier curtains and the transparent tab tops on voiles and other sheer curtains.

How do I use them?
Tab tops make curtain hanging simplicity itself! Space the tab tops evenly along the top of the curtain and secure the two ends through the front and back of the fabric, using the decorative pins. The loops simply run over the curtain pole. You can add Gliders to ensure that the tab tops slide smoothly back and forth as the curtains are opened and closed.

A spacing of 150mm to 250mm (6” to 10”) is usually appropriate. Remember, the spacing will determine the width factor for hanging pleats. It is suggested that a width factor of 2 is used in most situations.  You can strengthen your fabric top with the help of the 45mm transparent buckram tape.
